Six-time Olympic medal-winning gymnast Aly Raisman was in the Capital Region on Monday, talking about her new book "Fierce: How Competing for Myself Changed Everything."

Nearly 3,000 people packed the SEFCU Arena to hear the Olympian and advocate speak.

Raisman, who spoke out against former USA Gymnastics Dr. Larry Nassar at his sexual assault sentencing early this year, talked about balancing her personal life with her professional gymnastics career, her struggles with body image at a young age and her recent involvement in the #MeToo campaign.

"For us, if one adult had the character and had been educated to do the right thing and actually cared to do it, then [Nassar] would have been stopped a very, very long time ago, and it would have saved generations," Raisman said.
