Nine and 10-year-olds on RC Little League's Rotterdam baseball squad took the field with a different team in mind Friday night.

Playing in Schoharie, team families pooled some money together to donate to Scho-Wright Ambulance. They're the first responders who were on the front lines minutes after the tragic Schoharie limousine crash earlier this month.

The team passed the donation on ahead of Friday's first pitch. Coach Michael DeSantis talks about why the gesture was important for his team.

“You have to tip your hats to them. These people are selfless. A lot of times they put themselves into danger,” said DeSantis. “Between EMS and volunteer fire department these people are heroes.”

RC Little League made a donation as well.
