A string of crime, including Pittsfield's first homicide of the year, has some in the community looking for answers.

Lindsay Roucoulet's fiance, 34-year-old William Catalano, was beaten and stabbed to death October 15. He worked at a local barbershop to provide for their four children.

"I think he is just going to come home or I'm going to drive by his barbershop where he worked, and I'm going to see him at his station," Roucoulet said.

Three men — 20-year-old Jason Sefton, 22-year-old Anthony Boone and 28-year-old Bruce Romano — are all behind bars. They've been charged with Catalano's murder.

Police and residents held a community meeting Monday night, trying to work together to prevent another crime like this from happening.

"We are aware that there are some issues in that community and our driving concern is gangs, guns and drugs," Pittsfield Police Chief Michael Wynn said.

Roucoulet says there is some relief in the hope that the people believed to be responsible for her fiance's murder will be held accountable.

District Attorney Paul Caccaviello's office says the next court appearance for all three suspects is set for November 16.
