There is still a police presence in St. Johnsville after 21-year-old Michaela MacVilla was found dead earlier this week.

Officials are remaining tight-lipped as the investigation continues. State police remain in the area, and have been seen on Kringsbush Road, where Michaela's body was found on Tuesday.

Capt. Richard O'Brien said Wednesday that MacVilla's body was found by a property owner Tuesday afternoon in the town of Oppenheim, in Fulton County. Forensic pathologists are conducting an autopsy, as a cause of death is not known at this time.

There are no suspects at this time, and police are asking anyone with any information to come forward.

Police say MacVilla was last seen alive just after midnight on September 25, leaving work at the Stewart's shop on West Main Street, several blocks from her home.

Two troopers also remain outside the home of Daniel Nellis. He was the man arrested over the weekend on an unrelated weapons charge. It’s unclear if any of this is connected, as state police have not named him as a suspect.
