A company based in Europe is doing what it can to focus locally in the Capital Region.

Centrotherm is aiming to employ local workers to grow the company and the community.

Rep. Paul Tonko toured the plant Wednesday to support their mission.

Centrotherm employs more than 30 full-time workers from right around their facility on Pearl Street.

The hiring practice is garnering support from workers and management alike.

"When I’m going home from lunch, it shows there is something more in the community than drugs or whatever else they’re doing,” said Robert Jeanette, Centrotherm employee.

"This is a region that can be built up and so helping the community again is something that we all strive for,” said James Molloy, vice president of Centrotherm Business Development.

Centrotherm makes and sells HVAC parts.
