A month after the Parkland, Fla., school shooting, students across the country are planning a school walkout to call for stronger gun safety laws.

That walkout is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Students in Pittsfield, Mass., organized their own walkout late last month. Wednesday's event will be much larger in scope, with more than 2,500 walkouts planned nationwide.

A number of schools in the Spectrum News area are participating, including Albany and Saratoga Springs school districts. The walkout will last for 17 minutes to remember the 17 lives taken in Parkland.
