Last week's warm weather created a mess for some local communities following ice jams and flooding.

The Thurman Station Bridge on NY-418 flooded, forcing it to close along with a portion of 418 from River Road to Hickory Hill Road. That flooding also directly impacted 15 families, who were forced from their homes. And it's also having an impact on traffic.

"We have to go all the way around," said Thurman resident Bonnie Cameron. "What used to take me five minutes to go town, now it takes me 35 minutes."

"It’s going to take people who live in Thurman a little extra time to get around," said Warren County Sheriff's Lt. Peter DiFiore. "You’re not going to be able to use the 418 bridge any time soon."

No word on when the road will reopen. Once the ice jams break up, crews will be able to assess any damage to the road.
