The city's inviting you to take a break from the warm summer weather and cool off in one of its outdoor pools.
The Floating Lady Pool in the Bronx is just one of 53 pools that officially opened for the season Thursday.
They are open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with an hour-long cleaning break at 3 p.m.
This year the Intermediate and Olympic-sized pools will be open a week beyond Labor Day, until September 10.
Parks officials are urging swimmers to keep safety in mind while taking a dip.
"We want everyone to be able to enjoy our many pools, and also to be safe. To understand that they need to listen to the lifeguards, to listen to the officers that are on deck. We want everyone to be safe and to have a wonderful enjoyable summer," said Parks Department Bronx Commissioner Iris Rodriguez-Rosa.
If you forget to pack sunscreen, you can get some for free from the dispensers that are now available at the outdoor pools.
If the pool isn't your thing, you can always hit the beach.
City beaches are open each day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and make sure you only swim when lifeguards are present.
