POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie residents are getting a chance to hear more about proposed Dutchess County bus routes that could launch this summer. This comes as funding for the city bus service is getting closer to running out. Funding for the city bus service is scheduled to run out on June 30.
In April, the common council voted to approve a resolution to keep the city bus service funded through the end of the year, but it was vetoed by the mayor due to the city’s $13 million deficit.
The common council is expected to vote on whether to override the mayor’s veto during the common council meeting Monday.
