SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The dance has ended for the UAlbany women.

They faced off against Syracuse at the Carrier Dome this afternoon in the second round of the NCAA tournament.

The Great Danes trailed the Orange for most of the game and ultimately the Syracuse women came out on top.

The final score was 76 to 59.

Coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson and players say they are proud of the season and will look ahead to the future rather then dwell on the loss.

"I don't want them to have their heads down," Henderson said. "I don't want them to be sad. I want them to feel blessed that the things that we've done here at Albany are pretty amazing."

"A lot of people didn't believe we would make it this far," senior Shereesha Richards said. "And we have we beat the odds. And it's sad that we lost but we have accomplished so much this year and there's more positive to look on then there is negative."
