A total of $2 million is slated for Lincoln Park improvements, as per a 2021 budget proposal from Mayor Kathy Sheehan’s office.
The proposal, to be unveiled Thursday, will include funding for building a hillside open air theater, putting fitness equipment along the Morton Avenue Overlook Pavilion, and adding pedestrian safety improvements throughout the park. Sheehan says last year, the city redid the basketball courts, and now officials are looking to continue improving the park.
The plans all come with community input, as residents ranked what was most important to them when it came to Lincoln Park.
Sheehan says there are also plans to revitalize the Ridgefield, Westland Hills, Mater Christi, and Washington Park playgrounds.
