Fitness trainer Jayvon Evans is trying something a little different when it comes to his job. On a normal day, he would be at work teaching exercise classes. But most businesses, including his gym, temporarily shutdown as a precaution to the novel coronavirus.

“When I got the message that all work is going to be canceled, I figured what could I do to keep myself busy, while at the same time impacting people in some sort of a positive way,” said Evans.

So he came up with the idea to use the power of the web to help people stay fit from home. He shared fitness routines and health tips on Facebook and his Instagram page.

Although the videos aren’t generating any income, he says he still feels rewarded.

“One of my friends named Ben, lives in the [United Kingdom] and he sent me a two minute video of him doing the exercises. When I saw how excited he was to work out, it just made me feel good knowing that I am making a positive impact,” explained Evans.

As people around the world practice social distancing and self-quarantining, Evans says it’s important to keep our bodies active.

“For those of us who work out four to five times a week, suddenly halting that and eating a lot more, the chances of us not getting healthier are going to go high," Evans said. "In order for us to stay healthy and mentally healthy, stay on routines, keeps us going."
