What to do with all that family in town for Thanksgiving Weekend? Here's a few fun ideas!

Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles is a fun way to stroll the streets and shop the shops. This annual event with Charles Dickens and all of the characters from A Christmas Carol come to life and are amongst those that visit. This Getaway kicks off Friday, the day after Thanksgiving and continues through the weekend. This holiday tradition, just east of Auburn, happens every Saturday and Sunday through Christmas Eve.

How about a drive-thru Holiday Light Show?! Lights On The Lake is a good one in Liverpool, west of Syracuse. For Rochestarians, this may be the closest one around this season. Open every night, $15 per car Friday, Saturday and Sunday. $10 per car Monday-Thursday. Take Exit 38 onto Rt. 57.

Kids love model trains and there's a big one at the Garden Factory on Buffalo Road in Gates. 60 feet long and almost 20 feet wide, this enormous train display has a ton of detail with many trains in full operation. There are raised platforms to give little ones a better view! On weekends through Christmas, a new indoor holiday light show!
