A date has been set in the murder trial of the man accused of killing Michaela MacVilla.

Daniel Nellis appeared in court Friday morning. He's accused of killing the 21-year-old St. Johnsville woman.

MacVilla went missing in September after she left work at Stewart's. Her body was found on a remote hill in Oppenheim a week later. Court documents say MacVilla was shot in the head.

Nellis was charged with her death in November and since then, we haven't heard much in the case.

As Nellis was leaving court today, heading back to jail, our cameras were the only ones rolling when he spoke about his charges.

The trial is set to begin on June 3.
