Police in Gloversville have arrested a man after surveillance video captured a child being abused. Gloversville police arrested 31-year-old Lee Horning Jr. Monday night on charges on charges of attempted assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

 

 

Police responded to a home on Burr Street for a welfare check of a young boy. Officers made interviewed the alleged suspect and victim and were not able to substantiate the complaint. 

About an hour later, the officers were contacted by another tenant of the Burr Street home. The tenant gave police surveillance video which depicts Horning physically abusing a young child in the home.

Horning has been arraigned and is being held. Court documents state that the defendant forcefully picked up the child by the neck and then threw him to the ground. Once the victim hit the floor, the defendant proceeded to kick the victim four times. That surveillance video has been widely circulated on social media.

Spectrum News has spoken to a women that claims to be Horning's sister. She says that Horning is the father of the child. 

Police are unable to provide the name of age of the child, as he is a minor. We have requested to speak to them on camera, but they have declined at the request of the district attorney.
