WATERVLIET, N.Y. — A police standoff at the Fenimore Trace apartments in Watervliet has ended.

Authorities say it all started with a police chase in Troy. Patrol officers tried to pull over a car with two men inside who were alleged to have a violent history and warrants out for their arrests.

Police say the car didn't stop, but instead led officers on a chase to the apartments in Watervliet, where both men then ran inside.

That's when multiple police agencies established a perimeter, using extra caution since students were in class at nearby Watervliet High School. The school was briefly on lockout Wednesday until both suspects surrendered to police.

Both suspects are in custody.

Police say they expect charges to be filed against them, but there is no word yet on what they're facing.
