TROY, N.Y. — Police say a Troy woman is facing charges after allegedly seriously injuring a dog.

They say Gloria Carmona was working as a home health aide when she hurt one of her patients' dogs.

The injuries were discovered and reported to police by another health aide working in the home.

The dog was taken to a local animal hospital but had to be put down because of the severity of its injuries.

The incident happened between November 24 and 25.

Carmona was charged with aggravated animal cruelty and arraigned in Troy City Court Wednesday.
