Trinity Alliance volunteers are packing bags with all the essentials, things like vegetables and milk, and they’re taking them to families in need.

"Right now we are about to deliver to 15 families, deliver free food giveaway that we do twice a month," said Ayanna Singleton, a community health worker.

That’s just Ayanna’s portion. Each month, Trinity packs and delivers food to about 800 families in the Albany area.

"When you’re hungry, that’s your first priority obviously, is to feed your family and other things go out the window," said Singleton.

Ayanna has worked with Trinity for about five years working her way from receptionist to a community health worker, and this is the work she loves doing.

"I can identify with a lot of things that these communities are going through. I’ve been through it myself and so I have a lot of empathy," said Singleton.

And each delivery makes things a bit better for the growing number of Albany families in need, especially during a time when more and more people could use that extra bag of food.

"With food prices going up and jobs being cut down, anything extra. Little ones, and just, they’re grateful," said Singleton.
