Progressive groups are hopeful of a Democratic majority in the state Senate following news of a unity deal. But, even if this latest deal holds when lawmakers return next week, and even if the Democrats win both special elections, the Republicans will still have control of the chamber as long as Simcha Felder, a conservative Democrat, continues to caucus with them. Felder told me earlier today that he isn't making a decision until after April 24th. Joining us to talk more about this, and the possible impact on policy post-budget, are Jawanza Williams from VOCAL-NY, Robin Chappelle Golston of Planned Parenthood Empire State Acts. and Mike Kink from the Strong Economy for All Coalition.
