Advocates and lawmakers in support of the medical aid in dying act gathered at the capitol Tuesday to make a renewed push for the bill. It is a controversial subject and one that Republican state lawmakers, generally speaking, do not support. But six other states plus Washington, DC allow so-called death with dignity, and advocates are hoping New York joins that list. Joining us to talk more about this are Assemblywoman Amy Paulin, Corinne Carey from Compassion and Choices New York, and Barbara Thomas, a Saratoga Springs resident whose husband died after a battle with brain cancer six years ago.
