The 37th state Senate district seat is officially vacant, now that George Latimer has resigned in order to start his term as Westchester County Executive. But no special election has been called. When it does happen, however, the outcome could have a big impact on control of the chamber. Sarmad Khojasteh is a Republican hoping to flip the seat into GOP hands.
