Good government advocates and a group of current and former elected officials have teamed up to sue the state board of elections over the so-called LLC loophole. The plaintiffs include the Brennan Center, which argues that by allowing an individual donor to use multiple limited liability corporations to make campaign contributions the board is compromising the democratic process in New York. And after failing to get the board or the legislature to make a change, the center is taking the issue to the courts. Deputy Director of the Brennan Center's Democracy Program, Larry Norden, joined us to explain why.
