Transporting oil is no small issue in New York, or even the United States. Many advocates have been outspoken about the potential environmental and safety risks that come with shipping oil close to densely populated communities. New York, in particular, has seen a major uptick in shipments of crude oil in recent years which has led some advocates to call for a decrease or even a halt in oil transportation. One of those advocates is Doctor Jill Stein. She was in Albany on Tuesday for an event protesting oil trains in that city and joined us to discuss.
