A large storm system will approach tonight with snow spreading in from south to north after midnight. Lows will be in the low to mid 20s.

Tuesday will be a messy day with snow changing to an icy mix then to rain locally as temperatures climb into the mid to upper 30s. Plan for extra time for the morning commute. There will be a messy 2 to 5 inches of snow and sleet accumulation before the change to rain.

Colder air will drain back in on Wednesday with snow showers continuing. After starting the low 30s we’ll quickly setting into the 20s. Winds will likely gust 40 to 50 mph Tuesday night and Wednesday. Be prepared for changeable road and visibility conditions.

Thursday will be a fairly quiet day with highs back up in the mid 30s. A warmer system will arrive Friday into Saturday with more rain than a mix, but the am commute may be slower than normal.

Colder air will then return on Sunday and into the beginning of next week.
