Two people are recovering after a serious crash involving a New York State Police patrol car.

The crash happened Monday near the Silver Creek exit on the 90 westbound in Chautauqua Count.  

Police said Trooper Stephen Barker, 33, of Buffalo hit the back of a Dodge Caravan carrying five people.

Two passengers were airlifted to a Buffalo hospital for care.

Timothy McCann, 70, of Depew is listed in critical condition, and George Cole 66, of Arcade, is in serious condition, authorities said.

Trooper Barker and the driver of the caravan, Harry Gibbons, 75, of Irving, along with two additional passengers were all taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.The accident remains under investigation at this time.
