BUFFALO, NY – After a day of testimony from Supreme Court Judge Nominee Brett kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford – victims and survivors of sexual assault rallied at Bidwell Park.

Thursday Doctor Blasey-Ford detailed an assault that took place at a high school gathering in the 1980’s.

She claimed she is 100% certain the perpetrator was Kavanaugh.

He has denied the allegations and said, "I've never done this, Never! I’ve never done this to her or to anyone else!"

Sexual assault survivors in Western New York say the controversy surrounding the proceedings are the reasons why some victims refuse to come forward.

"What are you wearing?,” said organizer Jennifer Page. “What were you drinking?, how much did you have to drink? The real question should be -- Why are men raping?"

Some are calling for a full federal investigation of the allegations against Kavanaugh.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will vote on whether to recommend Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court on Saturday.

Crisis Services of Erie County released the following statement in support of Dr. Blasey-Ford, which says in part :

“ We have witnessed over decades and similarly in Anita Hill’s testimony in 1991, as well up to today a culture uncomfortable with confronting the very widespread epidemic of sexual violence and its continuum. Each of us has been impacted by these crimes, whether personally or by association – more than 25% of our population is victimized in this way. And yet, large sectors of our culture, including POTUS, continue to suppress survivors from coming forward by propagating disbelief, casting blame on the victim, and questioning the motivations when a survivor does feel safe to come forward”.
