The cost of a monthly bus pass for Buffalo students is $75, the same price adults pay.

But the passes can only be used during certain times. The Buffalo Parent-Teacher Organization wants this to change, as the passes are too restrictive for students with before or after school activities.

The organization is calling on the contract between the Buffalo Public School District and the NFTA to be renegotiated.

The full cost runs about $8 million per year for students, said Larry Scott, co-chair of the BPTO. “We are looking for the NFTA to come to the table and hopefully open this contract up and make it more accessible transport for Buffalo Public School students.”

A public forum is schedule for January 11 and will include representatives of both the school district and the NFTA.
