BUFFALO, N.Y. -- TV and film arts students at SUNY Buffalo State walked a red carpet of their own before last night's Oscars ceremony.

Dozens gathered at Campbell Hall for the department's tenth annual Night at the Oscars, which included live music, refreshments and a watch party.

"This is definitely a teaching moment, [because] this is what we strive for. I mean obviously the Oscars are one of the biggest events in film. It's kind of good and inspirational for us all to gather and see that that could be us someday," said Buffalo State student Noelle Fisher.

The night also included awards for the best student films of the year.
