LEWISTON, N.Y. — It’s a festival of flowers this weekend for the 19th Lewiston GardenFest.

If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, GardenFest gives you a chance to stop and smell the flowers.

It all starts on Center Street where you'll find dozens of vendors to teach you tips and tricks on gardening.

Make your way through dozens of public gardens as well as five private gardens with hundreds of sweet-smelling flowers and even compete to make a mini garden in a container.

This year's GardenFest coincides with the village's bicentennial celebration and organizers say they’re excited to show people from all over what Lewiston has to offer.

“People in the Lewiston, they take a lot of pride in their gardens and you can see as you go up and down Center Street," said Judy Talarico, Garden Fest chair. "We have flowers everywhere, container gardens everywhere. It's just lovely. It is so nice to share this with others in Western New York.”
