BUFFALO, N.Y. — Sunday's weather may have reminded you a bit more of summer and some of the things you're able to do in Western New York.

Many of Canalside's most popular attractions officially opened for the public this weekend. That includes kayak and paddle board rentals. But if you're a pro and already have your own, there's a launch for you to easily hit the water.

If staying on land is more your style, the Independent Health bike trail allows you to ride all the way to the lakeside bike park at the outer harbor.

As for bike rentals, there are ones available for adults and the kids.

The area truly has something for everyone to get outside and move.

"Just getting out and staying active especially in this outdoor space is great not just for your physical health, but also for your mental health as well," said Independent Health senior corporate wellness specialist Michelle Carbery. "We've been cooped up for a lot of months here and haven't seen people live, so this is a great space where you can spread out and still feel safe, but enjoy the outdoors. This space here at Wilkeson Pointe is just a great setting."
