CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Bills Mafia is nothing if not loyal to its football team and that holds true even after Sunday night's wild loss.

At the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport, Bills fans continued the tradition of thanking their team for what they did accomplish this season. A group of die-hard supporters waited for the team to arrive home and made sure the Bills know that their fans still have their backs.

The flip of a coin brought an end to hopes of a Super Bowl for Bills Mafia on Sunday. It was an absolutely crushing defeat.

“My heart dropped, my heart dropped," said Paul Ramos of South Buffalo. "It was the biggest loss since the Music City Miracle. I couldn’t believe it.”

Fans worked through the pain and headed to the airport to show the team some love after the Bills left it all on the field, taking the game into overtime.

“We fought our hearts out and as a fan that's all you can ask for,” said Gabrielle Richardson of Buffalo.

Fans say the 42 to 36 overtime loss was an emotional rollercoaster but shows just how far the team has come.

“We’re one of the top teams in the AFC," said Alex Bishop of Lockport. "We fell short in this game against Kansas City but it was a dog fight until the end.”

As the team arrived back in Buffalo, a handful of fans stood out in the cold, cheering, to show their unwavering support.

“To make sure our boys come home and feel loved," said a fan. "Win, lose or draw, we're here.”

And they remain hopeful year after year.

“I support you no matter what and there is always next year,” said Cherie Hall of South Buffalo.

Despite the loss, there was one thing on which fans could agree — it was a stunning performance by Josh Allen.
