Maybe the most unique thing NFL teams are having to evaluate during this pre-draft process is how they feel about players who opted-out this past college football season because of COVID.

Miami edge rusher Greg Rouseeau is part of that group, although he thinks he made the most of his time away from the Hurricanes.

"I feel I got a lot better," Rousseau said following his Pro Day. "Just working every single day. I was at Exos in Pensacola. Just being dedicated, being diligent with everything. Focusing on flexibility. Focusing on a lot of d-line stuff just to get ready for the next level and I feel like I made the most out of my opportunity."

What adds to the equation of Rousseau opting-out is the fact that he missed all but two games his freshman year with a fractured ankle.

That makes 2019 the only real time Rousseau was on the field over the past three years, but boy was it a memorable one. His 15.5 sacks were 2nd most in the nation with 19.5 tackles for a loss ranking 9th.

Still, one season of college ball is far from ideal for evaluators.

"I don't have a lot of film, but I feel I showed a lot in the time that I did play my redshirt freshman year," Rousseau said. "I feel like I proved a lot. I also feel like I'm a very versatile athlete and I fit into a lot of schemes and I'm just somebody that's going to be a hard worker from day one and I'm ready to get to the next level."

Physically, Rousseau is imposing, standing o ver 6'6" and 266 pounds.

That said, he did not show well at his Pro Day, with a 4.71 time in the 40. His 30 inch vertical jump ranks in the 16th percentile of DEs since 2000.

Pair that poor testing with lack of college experience, Rousseau projected as a late 1st to 2nd round pick.
