What is keying the Buffalo Sabres, off to their best start since the 2011-12 season following years of suffering?

"A lot of positivity which is great. I think that's what you need," said Jason Pominville, who potted two goals in a 4-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens. "I mean, I think last year we might have gotten down on ourselves a little bit too early."

The Sabres have won three straight, and stand at 6-4-0 after Kyle Okposo broke a 3-3 tie with a power play goal, with just 1:01 left in the game.

"We bent, we didn't break, and, I don't even think we bent, we just played the same way, that's all we did," said Pominville, the veteran who looks rejuvenated on a line with Jack Eichel and Jeff Skinner.

"It's not, sometimes you are going to lose, but if you just keep playing the same way and not try and take things into your own hands, you're going to have more success."
