Williamsville South took down Williamsville East 20-6 in the annual crosstown Williamsville rivalry game that featured 12 combined turnovers.

The Billies won the turnover margin 8-4. Williamsville South also finished the contest with a large advantage in total offense, outgaining the Flames 306 to 176.

Williamsville East opened up the scoring in the second quarter with Clayton Osborne getting into the endzone from five yards out to take a 6-0 lead.

The Billies responded just before the half with Jemelle Jones plunging in to score from a yard out to give South a 7-6 lead at the break. Two touchdowns in the second half would wrap up the game for the Billies.

Williamsville South came into Friday not only motivated to take down their crosstown rival, but also looking for revenge. Last season, the Williamsville East hit the road narrowly defeated the Billies in the season opener.

For both teams, Friday marked the final game of the regular season. Both the Flames and the Billies will finish the regular season at 3-4. Neither will qualify for the Section VI Class A playoffs. Both squads will have to wait until early next week to learn who their opponents will be in the 2018 Funke Bowls to be held next weekend.
