After two years in Green Bay, WI, Rachel Hopmayer joins the Spectrum News 1 Buffalo sports department to cover the Sabres and Bills. Raised in metro Boston, MA, Rachel knows a thing or two about snow days and covering teams with diehard fan bases.

Rachel got her start in 2012 with NBC Sports working Bruins hockey games. When she moved to Washington, D.C. to attend American University, she went on to cover the Washington Capitals’ Stanley Cup championship season in 2018, as well as the Washington Nationals’ World Series run in 2019. In 2020, she left the East Coast for Green Bay, where she covered the Ryder Cup, Milwaukee Bucks’ 2021 NBA Championship, and, of course, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.

When Rachel isn’t rinkside or on the sideline, you can find her trying new restaurants or walking around Elmwood Village listening to Bruce Springsteen.
