Originally from Troy, New York, Maura has now lived in Buffalo for two years. She joined the Spectrum News team in 2017 after graduation from Niagara University with a degree in Communications and Writing Studies. While her family is four hours away, Maura feels at home in Buffalo, in the famous City of Good Neighbors.

For Maura, being able to share different peoples’ stories each day and give a voice to members of the community whose voices wouldn’t otherwise be heard is what keeps her passionate about her job. Throughout her time as a reporter, her most memorable story was her coverage of a 10-year-old boy who spent years of his life battling cancer. He found joy in searching for painted rocks around the hospital and adding them to his collection. About a year after covering this story, Maura reconnected with this family. He is still fighting to get healthy, but its inspirational stories like this of courage and determination of never giving up that Maura wants to share with her viewers.

When this dog lover isn’t reporting in the field, you can find her embracing her next greatest passion, taking pictures around the scenic city of Buffalo!
