NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — An industrial fire burning since this morning in the city of Niagara Falls has been contained.

Firefighters say the fire at Cascades Containerboard Packaging began at the northeast side of the building at around 10 a.m.

Since then, fire trucks have been surrounding the building.

Crews have contained the fire in one area of the plant, and are working to prevent it spreading to other areas.

Mutual aid has been brought in from several surrounding fire departments.

High winds were no help, actually fanning the flames and sending smoke into nearby neighborhoods.

As of right now, there’s no word on any injuries or any estimates of damages.

Story correction: This article has been updated to include the correct location of the fire, which was previously reported at Greenpac Mill.
