NORTH BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo firefighters say two families and several exotic animals are safe following a fire in North Buffalo.
The fire broke out Friday morning on Virgil Avenue between Hertel Avenue and Tacoma Avenue. Crews were able to put the fire out, and the damage is limited to the back of the home.
All six people who live in the apartment house were able to get out safely, and no injuries were reported. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.
The animals included birds, iguanas, and snakes. They were all rescued and are being cared for by their owner.
A GoFundMe has been set up for the family here.
