BUFFALO, N.Y. — Groove Lounge in the city of Buffalo is now closed until further notice after two people were shot.

Buffalo police say it happened in the 1200 Block of Broadway around 12:30 a.m.

The Buffalo Police commissioner made the order to shut down Groove Lounge, which is also known as Club 1210.

According to the commissioner, the victims: a 29-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman, were found in the parking lot across the street with over 100 people in the area.

Police say the man is in critical condition and the woman is in stable condition.

This is not the first time Groove Lounge has been shut down.

It's been closed in the past due to violent shootings, a homicide last year, and it was closed earlier this year by the Erie County Health Department for violating the state's COVID-19 restrictions.

"They can request a hearing with the city, to attempt to re-open. So it will be in the hands of Corporation Council," said Deputy Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia. "So it will be up to them to try to obtain an order to reopen.
