A former Girl Scout troop leader accused of abusing two children is facing new charges in Erie County.

Marty Walton was virtually arraigned by an acting Amherst Town Court justice Friday morning.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says between March 27 and May 9 Walton engaged in sexual conduct with two children in Amherst.

He's now facing felony sex abuse and criminal sex act charges as well as two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Walton is being held without bail and could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

Walton and his wife Shani were both arraigned on charges in Niagara county last month. The district attorney there says Walton is accused of sexually abusing two children, one 8 years old and the other 9. His wife is facing two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

The North Tonawanda couple volunteered with the Girl Scouts of Western New York.

The group says both Walton and his wife passed background checks in 2016 and 2019. Both of them were removed from the organization.
