Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will visit the University at Buffalo on Monday, despite undergoing treatment this month for a cancerous tumor on her pancreas.

The confirmation from the court is in light of reports that Ginsberg, 86, underwent a three-week course of radiation therapy as part of her treatment.

“We have received confirmation from the Court that Justice Ginsburg’s August 26 visit to the University at Buffalo and Kleinhans Music Hall in the City of Buffalo will be held as scheduled,” read a statement from the university.

A biopsy performed July 31 confirmed a malignant tumor, the court said in a statement on Friday.

The tumor was “treated definitively and there is no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body,” the court said in a statement.

Ginsburg canceled an annual summer visit to Santa Fe, New Mexico, but otherwise maintained an active schedule during treatment, according to the court.

Despite the canceled visit to New Mexico, Ginsburg is expected to arrive in Buffalo next Monday.
