Lawmakers from around Western New York have weighed in on President Trump's State of the Union.

Republican Congressman Tom Reed, NY-23, praised the president's leadership and vision for the country.

Reed also released a statement, saying he hopes "extremists on both sides of the aisle" choose to "put the American people first."

Rep. Chris Collins, NY-27, touted the address as a "message of hope."

The Republican congressman, like Reed, praised Trump's vision.

Democratic Congressman Brian Higgins, NY-26, released a statement, saying it's time the president "lead by example."

Jamie Romeo, Democratic assemblywoman for the 136th District, highlighted her support of the Reproductive Health Act, a bill Trump heavily criticized Tuesday night:
