BUFFALO, N.Y. — Fall is not too far away and few things get you ready for the season like a trip to Mayer Brothers Cider Mill.

It’s been a Western New York staple for 170 years and the family run business is back open to bless Buffalo with tasty pies, delicious donuts and apple ciders and slushies.

Employees start setting up for the season as early as May and the donut make is in daily at 2 a.m. to prepare for the trush.

You’ll not only find cider and donuts, but also local artisan cheese, candles, crafts, and, of course, caramel and candy apples.

For many residents, a trip to the cider mill is a yearly tradition and employees say it’s a special feeling to be such a huge part of the community and also to support local vendors.

"You're going to get a great cider, slushie, you're going to get a great doughnut, a great pie," Colleen Nelson, Mayer Brothers Cider Mill general manager, said. "And our local products are amazing. We have a lot of local people that bring in their products and everything tastes amazing."

The mill is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
