Alumni of the University at Buffalo men’s basketball program are $1 million richer after they beat 60 teams of former college basketball greats.

Blue Collar U took home the trophy after winning the championship game Tuesday, as well as the million dollar prize.

The prize money will be split among the members of the team, but they weren’t just playing for the money.

They wanted to honor those who died in the Buffalo mass shooting by wearing the names of the victims on their jerseys.

Team leader Blake Hamilton says he’s going to take care of his family and his future with his portion of the prize money.

"I'll most likely just look out for my mom, my little brother,” he said. “And just try to save as much as possible, cause I wanna invest in real estate".

The win the grand prize, Blue Collar U beat the Americana for Autism Team, 89-67.
