WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — Epic Church is hosting the prom Friday night. People can stop by anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The pandemic-friendly event comes complete with a tent where guests will drive down the red carpet. There will also be music, karaoke, a photographer and other fun activities.

To help get guests ready for the big night, the church set up a boutique of sorts complete with dresses, suits, ties, shoes, purses and jewelry that the guests can shop from and pick out for free.

Organizers say the event provides an experience to people 14 and older with special needs who wouldn’t otherwise have an opportunity to get dressed up and have socially interact with their friends.

“Now more so than ever before because of COVID over the last few years, they really haven’t had many opportunities to even have those social interactions, so I know that this is going to be a meaningful night for this community,” Christel Arslanian, co-organizer, said.

The items in the boutique have all been donated by area businesses or members of the community.
