BUFFALO, N.Y. — Starting next week, the University at Buffalo is requiring kids ages 5 and older to show proof of vaccination for events.
The same policy has already been in effect for spectators 12 and older.
The mandate goes into effect on Monday for events at Slee Hall, the Center for the Arts and Alumni Arena.
The college says the change is being made because the two-dose Pfizer vaccine is now authorized by the FDA for that age group.
Kids between 5 and 11 can attend events until February 14 if they have at least the first dose. After that, they must have a completed vaccinated series.
UB says proof of vaccination can be shown with a vaccination card, a photo of a vaccination card, an Excelsior Pass or a digital vaccine card.
