BUFFALO, N.Y. — Byron Brown is officially Buffalo's longest serving mayor.

Brown was sworn in for his fifth term at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural Site Friday morning.

Leading up to the moment, though, was anything but ordinary.

After losing the June Democratic primary, Brown launched a write-in campaign.

After November's election, it took a couple of weeks for all the ballots to be counted and Brown declared the winner.

Looking ahead to this next term in office, Brown says he will continue to make Buffalo more affordable, safer, smarter and more sustainable, while also continuing to push for diversity, equity and inclusion.
