BUFFALO, N.Y. — Gov. Kathy Hochul said on Wednesday the state’s study on a new Buffalo Bills stadium may be released in a few days.

"The study is very comprehensive,” Hochul said. “It took more time than I thought it would, but it's ready to be released very shortly. I would say in a few days."

The state has been waiting on a study that is looking at several options, which include renovating the current stadium or building a new stadium still in Orchard Park or in downtown Buffalo.

Hochul says she promises to be transparent and that the conversations are going well.

"In terms of a completion, this will be a budgetary issue, and will show up in the New York State budget as an item once I have chance to speak to the legislators and garner support for that,” she said. “So that's really the timeline.”

The Bills will take on the Miami Dolphins Sunday at Highmark Stadium. This will be the first game where fans will have to show proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

People are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after getting a second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or two weeks after getting a shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz has a warning for anyone who has a fake vaccination card.

"Someone comes in with a fake vaccination card, it's illegal,” he said. “We are spot checking random amounts. We can't go through every person that comes in, but if we find someone illegal, we'll prosecute you.”

Poloncarz says they are doubling staff to check fans' vaccination status at Sunday’s game.
