There's been some back and forth concerning the closing of two of Buffalo's local eateries. The Steer and Lake Effect Diner in Buffalo's University Heights neighborhood was reported to have closed.
The co-owner of the Steer, Tucker Curtin, recently said he's putting his restaurants up for sale. But, a post on Facebook from co-owner Erin Campbell Curtin doesn't align.
Her posted stated that she was not consulted about the decision and is committed to keeping the restaurants open.
Spectrum News 1 talked to a head server at the Steer, Claire Castiglia, to find out the meaning behind the contradicting posts.
"I do not think that it was publicity, I do not think that it was a stunt at all. I think it was miscommunication... is what it was. And I also think it's important to know that we don't know if it's going to be able to reopen. Like everything is so speculative right now. Like there's no for sure if it's going to reopen, there's no for sure if it's going to stay closed. Nobody really knows," said Castiglia.
Castiglia stated that the staff did have a party to say goodbye to the business and had people come in from out of town to do so.
At this time, the fate of the diner is still up in the air.
