The Elmwood Franklin Parents Council organized a drive-thru food drive to make sure no mouth goes unfed during this trying time.

People stopped by throughout the day to help fill a school bus with much needed supplies for people who might need a little extra help putting food on the table.

The parents behind the food drive say that it teaches their children an important lesson.

"Our motto at Elmwood Franklin is ‘Thinking Beyond’ and it means we’re trying to teach our children and our community members to think beyond themselves and to put others before themselves, and even though we are a private school we feel like we serve a public purpose, and so today is part of thinking beyond ourselves and we feel also at this time in the world, the world needs to be thinking a lot more about care for their fellow humans," Andrew Deyell, Elmwood Franklin’s head of school, says.

All of the donations from the food drive will be given to FeedMore WNY. From there, they will be distributed to food pantries from around the region.
